Message in a bottle.

Today was the first day of Hotelympia, which as the name suggests is an important trade show for the hospitality industry.

I concentrated mainly on the food section in the hope that there may be something new and exciting to find – and there was: Norfolk Cordial.

As always, I’m a sucker for eye catching packaging, and these were no exception. Bright coloured labels, with strong graphics, they reminded me a little of O Olive Oil from California.

A relatively new company, Norfolk Cordial sources top quality fresh produce from Norfolk farms to make handmade fruit cordials and still drinks.  They only use natural ingredients and contain no preservatives, colourings or flavourings.

Their current range consists of:

Cordials

Raspberry

Red Gooseberry & Wild Elderflower

Strawberry & Lime

Rhubarb, orange & ginger

Wild Elderflower

Still Drinks

Apple with Raspberry

Apple with Wild Elderflower

Apple with Rhubarb and Ginger

The flavours are really sophisticated but without being cloying, and because they’re in concentrated form, they’re perfect not only for drinking diluted, but also as an ingredient in cocktails and recipe dishes.

Currently they’re only available in Norfolk and East Anglia, but I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before the rest of us can get our hands on them.
